Biography

A multidisciplinary researcher with a background in chemical engineering, energy science, and nanotechnology. Deepan Kumar Neethipathi is currently working as a Research Associate in the Pharmacy team, developing bioelectronic devices and biosensing technologies for healthcare and biomedical applications.

Expertise Summary

Deepan Kumar Neethipathi specialises in the design and development of next-generation sensor technologies. His core expertise is in the Fabrication, Characterisation and Development of sensor & bioelectronics devices, and nanomaterial synthesis.

He has hands-on experience in:

  • Synthesis of advanced materials, including 2D nanomaterials (e.g., MoSâ‚‚, Mxene, AgInSâ‚‚ etc)

  • Fabrication of flexible and printed devices: electrochemical sensors, photodetectors, Organic transistors, supercapacitors, and organic electronics

  • Analytical techniques: XRD, SEM/TEM, XPS, UV-Vis, AFM, and electrochemical analysis

  • Multiphysics modelling (COMSOL), process simulation (ASPEN PLUS).

Research Summary

Current research interests include developing bioelectronics devices and biosensing technologies for healthcare and biomedical applications.

Past Research

  • During the PhD studies (2020-2025) at the University of Glasgow, Deepan have worked on the fabrication and development of printed electrochemical-based sensor technology for water quality monitoring.
  • Duringthe M.S. study at DGIST, Daegu, South Korea (2018-2020), His research focused on the fabrication & characterisation of OFET and OPD-based devices
