1.3m EPSRC grant enables large scale graphene production at Nottingham

University Staff Oscar

Nottingham MRI Physicists shed new light brain nerve fibres

World-leading experts in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from the School's Sir Peter Mansfield Magnetic Resonance Centre have made a key discovery which could give the medical world a new tool for the improved diagnosis and monitoring of neuro-degenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis.

Honoured at the 2012 Human-Competitive awards

Description
In an effort to make scanning probe microscopy a more effective and efficient technique, Dr. Richard Woolley and collaborators from the Nanoscience group, Computer Science (UoN) and the Beckman Institute (Illinois) were honoured with the Silver Humies award for human-competitive results in evolutionary and genetic programming.
