My research interest centres on the use of statistical models to understand complex systems. My current research efforts focus on the genomic information and its modelling. Recent developments in experimental techniques for genomic screening has generated a huge wealth of information, which would benefit from the appropriate statistical analyses. I am interested in developing techniques for two areas. Firstly, the analysis of subtle correlations in the case of several genetic diseases, for which I am working with the Nottingham QMC. Secondly, the expression of genetic traits and epistasis through analytical/computational models of evolution, an example is the collaboration work with the Institute of Genetics on the mating strategies of hermaphradite snails.
