How to Stage a Coup

Congratulations to Professor Rory Cormac on the publication of his new book How to Stage a Coup (Atlantic books).

Professor Cormac is an expert in secret intelligence, and his latest work is an investigation into the world of secret statecraft and how covert action is shaping the world.

He has had several publications in recent years, including most recently The Secret Royals: Spying and the Crown from Victoria to Diana (Atlantic, 2021).

Rory is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and alongside Richard J. Aldrich, he has researched and fronted three documentaries for Channel 4: Spying on the Royals (2017), D-Day: The King who Fooled Hitler (2019) and The Queen and the Coup (2020).

Professor Cormac is also director of the Centre for the Study of Subversion, Unconventional Interventions and Terrorism. Based in the School of Politics and International Relations, the centre brings together unrivalled expertise on security challenges below the threshold of warfare.
