Professor Steven Fielding retires from the School of Politics and International Relations

Steven Fielding

The School of Politics and International Relations regrets to announce the departure of Professor Steven Fielding

Professor Fielding joined the School from the University of Salford in 2007 and has been an active member of our community during these 15 years. Steven is an expert in British contemporary politics and his teaching has focused on the history and politics of modern Britain. He was the founding director of the School's Centre for British Politics as well as being the first editor of our blog 'Ballots and Bullets' which ran until 2018. He has been an integral part of the school and has been a great supporter of our post graduate research community.

Professor Fielding will retire from the School this summer but he will continue to work with us as an Emeritus Professor. We do not doubt that Steven will continue to make regular appearances in the press and on the radio to share his expertise on UK politics whilst also working as a co-presenter on the The Zeitgeist Tapes podcast.

We would like to wish Professor Fielding all the best for the future!
