We are delighted to announce that School of Politics and International Relations doctoral researcher Benjamin Thomas has recently passed his PhD viva with minor corrections.
Benjamin’s thesis, ‘Conceptualising Ideological Transition: Centre-Right Neoliberalisation in the UK and post-war West Germany’ contributes an account for how ideologies change a through conceptual analysis of two cases of historical ideological change, the rise of ordoliberalism in the West German CDU 1945-1949 and the rise of ‘Thatcherism’ in the Conservative Party in the 1970s.
His thesis was examined by Dr Dean Blackburn and Professor Ben Jackson (University of Oxford).
