Sue Arrowsmith to speak on corruption in sport procurement at United Nations conference, safeguarding sport from corruption

Professor Sue Arrowsmith, Director of the Public Procurement Research Group, will speak at the United Nations (UN) conference Safeguarding Sport from Corruption: Towards effective implementation of resolution 7/8 on corruption in sport, to be held at the UN in Vienna September 3 and 4 2019.

The aim of the conference is to serve as the primary global platform for UN Member States, sport organizations to discuss and other invited stakeholders to share progress on the implementation of Resolution 7/8 on Corruption in Sport, which was adopted by the Conference of State Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2017.

Professor Arrowsmith is speaking in the panel How to address corruption risks in major sport events,with other contributors coming from organisations such as the South American Football Federation and World Rugby. Other speakers at the event come from, among others, the United Nations, OECD, International Olympic Committee (IOC), UEFA, FIFA, International Hockey Federation and International Gymnastics Association.
