Public Procurement Law Review

Luke Butler has published two articles in the latest issue of the Public Procurement Law Review.

The first "Meeting the threshold for effective regulation? Contract value thresholds under the Single Source Contract Regulations - rationale, retention, removal and reduction" pre-empts a forthcoming statutory review of the legislation in this important area and makes a principled case for rejecting the current approach to coverage of contracts determined by contract value.

The second "Public procurement and petroleum contracts - setting aside international commercial arbitration awards on grounds of public policy: Betamax Ltd v State Trading Corporation" provides an analysis of a high-profile Privy Council decision on the role of public policy in international commercial arbitration from the perspective of public procurement.
