Biography

I am a Teaching Associate within the School of Psychology. I currently teach:

  • Research Methods and Analysis, for the Psychology conversion MSc (via distance learning)
  • Practical Methods, for the Psychology BSc, and conversion MSc (both on-campus and via distance learning)
  • Personality and Individual Differences, for the Psychology conversion MSc (on-campus)

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Chester before spending a year working as a support worked at a psychiatric hospital. I completed my PhD in Psychology at the University of Manchester, supervised by Prof. Rebecca Elliot, Dr. Laura Brown, and Dr. Gabriella Juhasz. My PhD focused on studying why personality traits, such as neuroticism and conscientiousness, predict anxiety and depression.

My main areas of research are personality, emotion, and mental health.

I co-developed Statistics Launchpad, a website to help students to learn statistics.

I have a strong interest in data analysis and have developed apps to perform and explain statistical analysis:

As a hobby, I summarise influential psychology books on my YouTube channel.
