I am a Teaching Associate in the School of Psychology. I teach various lectures, seminars, and practicals across several Psychology courses.

I currently teach these modules:

  • Introduction to Research Methods and Analysis 1
  • Research Methods and Analysis 2
  • Practical Methods 1, 2, 3
  • Personality and Individual Differences 3
  • Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology (CHIP) 2, 3

1 Psychology BSc 2 Psychology MSc conversion via distance learning 3 Psychology MSc conversion

I also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology research projects; organise the Psychology BSc 1st year seminars; and supervise marking for 1st year written assignments.

Teaching resources

I co-developed Statistics Launchpad, a website to help students to learn and revise statistics. This resource assumes no background knowledge, and uses videos, quizzes, and interactive apps to teach the statistics used across the Psychology courses.

As a hobby, I discuss psychology on my YouTube channel. This includes summaries of influential academic psychology books, summaries of statistical concepts, and a history of psychology to help with revision for the CHIP module.

Research

My research focuses personality, emotions regulation, and statistics education.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Chester before spending a year working as a support worked at a psychiatric hospital.

I completed my PhD in Psychology at the University of Manchester, supervised by Prof. Rebecca Elliot, Dr. Laura Brown, and Dr. Gabriella Juhasz. My PhD focused on studying why personality traits, such as neuroticism and conscientiousness, predict anxiety and depression. You can see my PhD thesis here.
