Having finished her Masters at Lancaster University and completing previous internships at John Innes Centre and Gregor Mendel institute, Kellie is now studying for a PhD in Food and Agriculture at The University of Nottingham. The current project bridges molecular biology, physiology and genomics of duckweeds (Lemnaceae) to understand adaptation. In particular, Kellie is interested in the adaptive traits of duckweed species to allow their global colonisation covering diverse light and water environments. Kellie aims to optimize light regimes and macro and micronutrient content of duckweeds towards its development as a sustainable future crop.
