Heike is a member of the Future Food leadership team. She is an Associate Professor in German Studies, School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies; Fellow of Nottingham’s Institute of Mental Health; and on the leadership team for UoN Health Humanities. She is a literary scholar with publications in the field of contemporary and 18th-century literature and poetry, and an expert in literary and non-literary autobiographical narratives of mental health with particular focus on eating disorders. She is currently leading two international and interdisciplinary AHRC- and Wellcome-funded projects bridging arts & humanities and the health sector that integrate narrated lived experiences of eating disorders into clinical practice and research with main focus on the underrepresented voices of men, boys and the LGBTQplus population.
