Peter joined the University in October 2018 from the University of Birmingham, where he was a Senior Research Facilitator at the Medical School. During his time in Birmingham he was involved in large multi-million pound applications to UKRI, Wellcome Trust, BHF and CRUK in the areas of Metabolism and Systems Research and Cardiovascular diseases.

Prior to this, Peter completed an MSci at the University of Nottingham in Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry, and his PhD at the University of Birmingham in Immunology. Before moving into research administration and development, he spent six years as a post-doctoral fellow, publishing more than 15 papers with a H-index of 11.
