Aishwarya Shankhapal

Aishwarya Shankhapal is a PhD candidate with the Graduate Centre for International Agriculture. She holds an MSc from Savitribai Phule Pune University in India. After completing her MSc, she worked at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), India, as a junior research fellow.

 
Her PhD project revolves around 'Understanding mesocotyl elongation in rice', which is one of the important crop establishment traits for direct seeding of rice. She is supervised by Professor Peter Eastmond and Dr Smita Kurup (Rothamsted), as well as Professor Malcolm Bennett and Dr Leah Band (University of Nottingham).
