Jamie was awarded a poster prize for her poster at the GRS
PhD student Jamie Thompson had a very successful time at the recent Proteoglycans Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) in New Hampshire, USA in July. Jamie was awarded a poster prize for her poster at the GRS and the award covers her registration costs. This is a fantastic achievement, particularly as the general quality of participants was very high. Jamie’s supervisor, Cathy Merry, said: “she did very well indeed!”
The poster Jamie presented was entitled: ‘Matrix-inspired Biomaterials for Cell Phenotype Control’ and she did a great job of presenting her work - and battling through the sudden storm, power cut, lobster dinner and ‘act out your favourite proteoglycan’ challenges posed by the meeting!
Jamie is a PhD student in Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham. She joined the project in 2017 mainly associated with Research Challenge 3 (Advanced Materials for 3D Stem Cell Differentiation and Regenerative Medicine) of the EPSRC funded Programme Grant in Next Generation Biomaterials Discovery.
