We are delighted to announce that CfAM at the University of Nottingham have been awarded a £6m grant from the EPSRC to develop a toolkit for 3D printing in UK healthcare. This toolkit will act as an instruction manual to improve the pathway from research all the way through to development and clinical adoption – giving healthcare professionals access to the latest cutting-edge science faster. The goal is to see widespread uptake across hospitals, pharmacies and the wider NHS, and researchers hope the toolkit will bring about new technology such as prosthetic limbs, ‘smart biopills’ and intestinal patches that can rebuild tissues damaged through chronic disease.
