On 11 November 2021, Dr Sanam Saidova presented her research at the 12th Transnational Commercial Law Teachers’ Conference titled ‘Secured Transactions in Transnational Commercial Law’ and organised by the School of Law, Universidad de Chile. Dr Saidova’s presentation focused on the relationship between the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (CTC), its Protocols and the applicable law in the context of the requirement of ‘power to dispose’. Dr Saidova argued that power to dispose ought to be governed and defined by the Convention and proposed ways in which this concept could be developed under the CTC.
