Blue skies event - intellectual property law post Brexit - University of Oxford

 

On 2 June 2021, Professor Estelle Derclaye spoke at blue skies event on intellectual property law post Brexit at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford

Prof Derclaye was a panellist on copyright and design issues at the Brexit and IP: Escape Velocity or Near-EU Orbit'. Other speakers were Sara Ashby (Wiggin) (designs), Dr Janni Riordan (8 New Square) (copyright and trade marks) and Dr Stuart Baran (3 New Square) (trade marks and SPCs).

Speakers suggestions as to whether the UK should depart from EU law in several areas of intellectual property now that the TCA between the UK and the EU and the Withdrawal Act allow departure to some extent.

The organiser was Dr Poorna Mysoor and the chair was Prof. Graeme Dinwoodie (Chicago-Kent College of Law and University of Oxford). The event was attended by 40 participants drawn from academia, the judiciary and practice.
