The CJEU judgment in the RAAP case

The judgment of the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the RAAP case not merely dealt with the equitable remuneration of (foreign) performers. It caused a tidal wave in the world of the collective management of copyright. Together with Linda Scales, RAAP’s solicitor in the case, Prof Paul Torremans delivered a seminar on this seminal case on 14 January 2021 under the title ‘The CJEU’s judgment in the RAAP case: a victory or a blow for performers?’. The seminar was organised by Blaca, with Lord Justice Arnold in the chair, and some 200 persons logged on.
