G2TRC Launch

The Gas Turbine and Transmissions Research Centre established new facilities in 2016. An official G2TRC Launch was opened by Chris Barkey, Rolls-Royce Director of Engineering & Technology, on Monday 04 July 2016.

The opening included a welcome speech from Prof Hervé Morvan and the unveiling of a plaque celebrating the Centre as one of Rolls-Royce’s University Technology Centres, since 1997. PVC Prof Dame Jessica Corner DBE, Research & Knowledge Exchange from the University also attended representing support from the University Executive Board. The launch had a champagne reception, canapes and a String Quartet.

Staff, colleagues, family and friends attended a private bar-b-que outside the new Centre that evening to celebrate their yearly achievements. A new BBQ tradition we hold every year.
