The Pedal Effect

Saturday the 14th of  October will the see the Oxjam Beeston Takeover in full swing. During the day you might run into Dr Alan Chamberlain and Prof Steve Benford of the Mixed Reality Lab. They’re going to be around interviewing people in order to understand more about the ‘distorted’, ‘fuzzy’, ‘compressed’ world of effects pedals. So whether you’re a fan of the ‘Wah-Wah’, a lover of loopers, or tend to use a ‘Tube Screamer’ get in touch. See below for details.

Effects Pedals  - Beeston Oxjam

Do you use and own effects pedals?  Why not come and tell us all about them! Maybe bring a couple of pedals with you or even share some pictures and tell us a story or two. We’re thinking about designing new pedals and musical systems, and are carrying out some interviews to try and understand more about the world of effects pedals.

We’ll be in The Guitar Spot (106 Chilwell Rd) in Beeston from 1.30 onwards on Saturday (14th Oct) and would love to hear from you. You can email me at Alan.Chamberlain@nottingham.ac.uk to get more info, arrange a time or just drop in if you like.

We have a limited amount of money to donate to Beeston Oxjam, and we’ll be donating £20 per interview and £2 for every original pedal/pedal board picture shared on twitter – don’t forget to use #beestonpedal

Why not tweet a pedal picture! Use the hash tag #beestonpedal
