Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre

Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre (SPMIC)

An interdisciplinary, cross-faculty centre for innovative imaging in experimental and translational medicine, bringing together researchers who develop new medical imaging techniques with clinicians and scientists who use them.

Our centre spans two sites: one based on University Park and the other in the Medical School, Queen's Medical Centre (QMC).

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £29.1 million to establish the UK’s most powerful Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner as a national facility.
