School of Physics and Astronomy Work Experience Week

4th-8th July 2022. Submit applications by 5pm on Sunday 1 May 2022.


 A number of schools and departments across the University also run outreach activities in specific subjects. These activities include demonstrations in schools, taster days held at the University and support from current students within the schools.

 Below you will find links to the outreach pages for various subjects, which detail information relating to their activities with schools and colleges.


Using the University libraries

There are ten libraries across the University’s UK campuses containing a wealth of resources on a myriad of subjects. Library staff are keen to give local schools access to these. Please visit the school group visit page for further information.


Faculty of Arts Global Cultural Festival

Calling all photographers in Secondary Schools around Nottingham! Students in the local Secondary Schools are invited to enter photographs with the theme of Global Culture.  

The University of Nottingham is proud to host the Faculty of Arts Festival of Global Culture taking place between 3rd and 7th May 2022. As a major contributor to the life of our community, the University of Nottingham would like to invite your pupils to take part in our festival.

 Instructions for entering the competition:

  • A maximum of (no more than) 3 images 
  • Name each image with your name and the name of your school (joebloggs-secondaryschoolname.jpg ) 
  • Submit your photos by sending them to by Monday 28th March 2022.  

 Rules for photographers: 

  • The person entering was the photographer 
  • Your photos are suitable for others to see 
  • Any people included in your photos have given their permission to have their picture included in the competition.

The winning entries will be published on the website of the Faculty of Arts Festival of Global Culture. Winners will be invited to the biggest event of the week, the Global Extravaganza taking place on the 6th of May from 6.30 pm and your photos will be shown during the event. The winner photographer will receive a prize of £50 Amazon voucher for first place and £25 for second place.
