Visual Learning Lab

Research

The Visual Learning Lab core team  is involved at a regional, national and international level in cutting edge research into the pedagogically-informed integration of visual learning technologies into the teaching and learning process in Higher Education.  They have particular interests in videoconferencing; interactive whiteboards; visual display systems; virtual flipchart technology, and mobile technologies. Follow the links in the left-hand menu to find out more.

In addition to the interests of the core team, the VLL has supported staff from across the University in carrying out research related to visual learning in two key ways:

  • Investing in existing good practice in teaching through a series of grants for infrastructure investment and/or research.  Outcomes of this investment are describes in the Case Studies pages;
  • Continuing to support research into visual learning through its conference fund.  You can read a selection of the papers presented at conferences using this fund .
