Our Degree Apprenticeship Employer Engagement Day combines our popular degree apprenticeship information sessions and Annual Employer Forums, to create a full day dedicated to our degree apprenticeship programmes.
Activities will include workshops to support employers in their apprenticeship journey, as well as the opportunity for networking and meeting other employers considering or engaging with the university’s programmes. You are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as you like and will be able to remote work, network or organise one-to-ones with the Degree Apprenticeships team when not involved in a session.
Please take the time to read the information relevant to you prior to registering to ensure you are registering for the sessions most relevant to your organisation's needs.

Important information for everyone
The event is open to both our existing partners and employers/workforce development professionals, business leaders, and line managers of potential apprentices who would like to find out more about accessing our degree apprenticeship programmes.
Businesses of all sizes access our programmes, and we welcome large corporates and SMEs. Please see our eligibility pages to ensure your business/organisation meets the necessary basic criteria for a degree apprenticeship or talk to our Employer Engagement team if you would like to check the event is right for you and your business.
The Employer Engagement Day is an opportunity for our current partner employers to come together to take part in our Annual Employer Forums:
- Advanced Clinical Practice
- Architecture
- Data Science
- Electro-mechanical Engineering
The Annual Employer Forums provide a space for employers accessing our programmes (across all cohorts), to come together to discuss matters relating to their specific apprenticeship programme. It is an important part of the university’s commitment to promoting bilateral feedback to guide continuous development of our degree apprenticeships.
We recommend each employer have both a HR/Apprenticeship Manager and line manager present at the forum. However, you are welcome to extend the invite to any staff, supporting apprentices on our programmes, who would benefit from being involved in the feedback discussions.
Agenda’s will be sent out in advance of the forum, and we are happy to receive suggestions for points of discussion as part of the sign-up process.
We also encourage partner employers to register for the workshops taking place throughout the day, information sessions if they would like to find out more about our other programmes and to take part in the networking breakfast and lunch. All of which can be booked on the registration link above.
If you have any questions about the Annual Employer Forum, please contact your designated Account Manager.

The Employer Engagement Day is an excellent opportunity for employers considering using one of our degree apprenticeship programmes to upskill their workforce, whether that be via recruitment to new roles or upskill existing staff members. You’ll get to meet our teams, find out more about our programmes, network with employers currently accessing our apprenticeships, and attend workshops that will help support you on your apprenticeship journey.

Please note that this event had been designed for workforce development professionals, employers and line managers of potential apprentices. We do however recognise that some apprentices will be current employees and will want to attend with their employer to find out more about the programme. We therefore welcome potential apprentices to our information sessions if they are attending with their employer or have an employer that has already engaged with our team.
Unfortunately, this event is not suitable for potential apprentices who do not have an engaged employer.

Throughout the day we will be running a series of workshops. We aim to schedule these in a way that allows all attendees to access them around their main information sessions or Annual Employer Forums. Workshops include:
- How to enhance your apprenticeship recruitment- steps and tips
- Mentoring - Supporting apprentices on degree apprenticeships
- Capture the impact and stories of your apprentices in the workplace – working with the university to create case studies
We will schedule our workshop sessions according to demand, and therefore ask attendees to make arrangements to attend workshops within a timeframe rather than giving a set time. We will communicate set times in advance of the day.
Some of our programmes are in high demand. We therefore do not recommend that interested employers delay conversations with our employer team until the event. Contact our Employer Engagement team and start the conversation today.
Remote working space and access to WIFI will be provided and a business lunch and breakfast will be provided for those who book onto them (as part of the event booking process).
