Research Summary
Title: The Iron Age Glass Industry of the British Isles and North-Western Europe - A Cultural and Industrial Examination of Glass Beads
Iron Age peoples used ornament as a way to define themselves and to others, and glass beads were no exception having their place in human culture. My aim is to arrive at a model of the Hallstatt and La Téne glass industry, focusing specifically on the manufacture, trade and use of glass beads within the British Isles and North-Western Europe.
