The University continues to invest in laboratories and teaching facilities to ensure that our undergraduate and postgraduate students study in modern, high-quality facilities. A new £10 million Engineering and Science Teaching and Learning Centre will enhance the student experience even further. The Centre will offer ten new lecture theatres and seminar space, and will focus on the latest technologies to support student-centred learning. The Centre will also incorporate flexible work spaces and touch-down terminals for short-stay internet access. A central social hub will connect to cafeterias, with seating clusters for group work, ensuring that the learning experience of our students continues to be amongst the best in the UK. Building work has already commenced on the land between the Coates and Chemistry buildings on University Park Campus. The Engineering and Science Teaching and Learning Centre is due to open in May 2011.
