Funding Opportunities

Competitive Scholarships 2012

The School has the following scholarships available to applicants for one of the School of Law's full-time Taught Masters programmes on a competitive basis and awarded on academic merit:

  • Up to 100% tuition fee bursaries for students classed as oversees for registration purposes
  • Up to 100% tuition fee bursaries for students classed as Home/EU for registration purposes

All applications for 2012 scholarhips must be received by 31 May 2012.  Applications received after that date will not be considered. Applicants for both schemes appply using the "Apply Now" button, below.

School of Law Competitive Scholarships  are awarded on the basis of academic merit only to applicants who hold an unconditional or conditional offer. Please supply details of your academic qualifications to date as they appear on your transcript(s) and details (if appropriate) of your predicted final grade.

This information will be used for short-listing and should therefore be as full as possible.

AHRC Research Preparation Masters Scheme 2012

Research Preparation Master’s awards provide funding for courses that focus on advanced study and research training explicitly intended to provide a foundation for further research at doctoral level. The School of Law is able to nominate one student in 2012 for this scheme.  For further details please see the Graduate School's website

Applications are made to the Graduate School and the closing date is 22 February 2012.


Centre for Environmental Law Scholarship 2012

The Centre for Environmental Law will offer one scholarship for 2012 entry.  This is for the value of £4890.

This scholarship is available to students who wish to study for the LLM Environmental Law  or MSc Law and Environmental Science who apply before the 31 May 2012.  The scholarship will be made to the candidate most deserving of the award and ALL candidates who apply for either of these programmes will automatically be considered.

Applicants for all the above awards will be notified at the end of July 2012 if they have been successful.


MA International Law, Security and Terrorism Scholarship 2012

These £1,000 scholarships are available to students who wish to study for the MA International Law, Security and Terrorism programme who apply before the 31 May 2012.  The scholarships will be made to the candidates most deserving of the award and ALL candidates who apply for this programme will automatically be considered.

Applicants for all the above awards will be notified at the end of July 2012 if they have been successful.
