Members of Dama International win award

Description
Members of the Fallow Deer Project, Dr Naomi Sykes and Dr Ruth Carden, have just received the 2011 Martyn Jope Award for the best novel interpretation, application of analytical method or presentation of new findings published in Medieval Archaeology.

Fallow Deer project awarded ARHC grant

The AHRC has just awarded the University of Nottingham through the Standard Grant Scheme to lead an international and multidisciplinary investigation into the circumstances and cultural significance of the European Fallow Deer (Dama dama dama).

Southwell Fieldwork Season 2012: volunteers required

Between 9 - 30 June 2012 a team of archaeologists will be working in the Southwell area, carrying out survey and small scale (1m x 1m) excavations around the town and its surrounding landscape. There are two ways to get involved.
