Our graduates move into an extraordinarily wide range of careers.  About 10 per cent each year become professional archaeologists. Most archaeological careers are in museums or in field excavation units. Jobs are also available in teaching, local authority planning departments, English Heritage and the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (now part of English Heritage).  Some graduates obtain archaeological posts abroad.

Other graduates choose careers in industry and commerce, particularly in management and personnel, school teaching, law, accountancy, local government …… in fact in almost every walk of life you can think of.
