Roman archaeology

Roman archaeology forms an important part of the research and teaching environment at Nottingham with staff and students engaged in research projects in many different parts of the former Roman Empire. Staff also play key roles within the Centre for Late Antique and Byzantine Studies and teach modules and provide supervision within the Archaeology postgraduate portfolio

Roman archaeology is also a focus of materials research at Nottingham, notably on the provenancing of mosaic tesserae and other Roman glass:
