Our staff and students conduct research on the fundamental materials and pyrotechnologies of the ancient world: ceramics, metals, glass and lithics. By integrating innovative analytical techniques with a deep understanding of the cultural contexts of our material, we can begin to understand not only the history of technologies but also the societies that invented, developed, and transmitted them.
