Management Project
An integrated approach
The management project completes your MBA programme but it also provides an important integrating framework for your MBA. Preparation for your project starts in the second semester, when you will learn how to connect multi-disciplinary perspectives by exploring the relationships between business, stakeholders, and society.
You will explore these issues in a series of lectures, exercises, and an in-depth case study designed to develop your integrative thinking. Workshops in qualitative and quantitative research methods will sharpen your analytical skills.
We encourage you to deal with all dimensions of a business issue and the management projects tests your ability to do this in a real situation. Projects take place during the summer and last about ten weeks.
Company based projects
Depending on your career goals, you can apply for a number of competitive management projects in the UK and overseas. The Business School works with leading multinational companies, small and medium sized enterprises, financial services, not-for-profit organisations, and creative industries to help arrange project opportunities.
Many companies and organisations use projects to assess the potential of new employees. If career change is your goal, a project is an ideal way of gaining exposure to a new sector. Sponsoring organisations have offered jobs to a number of our MBAs.
You can work either individually or as a group. A Business School faculty member who specialises in your area will support you and you will have a mentor from the company.
Many of our MBA participants also organise their own projects to suit their career aims.
