Nottingham University Business School Scholarships
The School is offering the following scholarships to full time Doctoral students for the 2010/11 session:
- Seven full Scholarships covering full tuition fees as well as tax-free living expenses of £13,650 per year (ESRC rate for 2010-11). Two of these scholarships are being offered by the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR) and another is being offered by the Christel DeHaan Travel and Tourism Research Institute (TTRI). All scholarships are available to both Home/EU and overseas students. Students who want to be considered for the scholarship competition should submit their application by 23rd April 2010 at the latest.

ESRC Scholarships - Two Quota Awards and Open Competition
The School's programme is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). This means that Home/EU students who are offered a place on the programme are eligible to apply for ESRC funding. If successful, the ESRC pays the students tuition fees and provides 13,650 (ESRC rate for 2010-11) tax free living expenses.
The Business School has been allocated two ESRC Quota Awards for the 2010-11 session. Alternatively, students may apply to the ESRC Open Competition. The deadline for applications to be submitted to the ESRC is normally at the beginning of May, although the application process begins much earlier, with an internal school deadline of 26th February 2010.
If you are applying for one of the ESRC Quota awards please note that the application will be disregarded unless you have indicated, in the personal details section of the online application form or section 3 on the hard copy postgraduate application form where it asks 'how do you expect to fund your studies', that you wish to be considered for one of the Quota awards. Please state 'ESRC Quota Applicant'. ESRC Quota applications will be evaluated on the basis of former qualifications, academic background, references and research proposal. All of the required documentation in relation to the applicant must be submitted to us by the stated deadline.

The Business School successfully secured three ESRC CASE Studentships for the 2008/9 session and two for the 2009/10 session, in collaboration with the following organisations, HMRC, FTSE and the NHS. The School is hoping to gain a number of ESRC CASE Studentship awards for the 2010/11 session. If successful, further information will be made available on this webpage shortly.

University Scholarships - Home/European and Overseas Students
Sir Francis Hill Scholarship
The Sir Francis Hill Scholarship is open to Home/EU and Overseas applicants who are either applying for the full time PhD programme commencing in September 2010, or who are already in the first year of their PhD studies at NUBS. The Scholarship covers tuition fees (Home/EU rate) and a stipend of £13,650 (ESRC rate for 2010/11) for up to 3 years. The deadline for applications to the School is 26th February 2010.
