Nottingham University Business School Scholarships
The School is offering the following scholarships to full time PhD students for entry in October 2014:
Up to four full-time PhD Scholarships open to all research areas. These Scholarships cover full tuition fees as well as tax-free living expenses of £14,069 per year (estimated ESRC rate for 2014-15) and are available to Home/EU and overseas students. Students who want to be considered must hold an offer for a full-time PhD at Nottingham University Business School, by 11th April 2014 12 mid-day (UK time) at the latest. We would therefore advise students to submit a completed application by 28th February 2014, including all required supporting documentation.
There is no additional scholarship application form to be completed, however applications for these Scholarships will be disregarded unless you have indicated, in the personal details section of the application form, where it asks 'how do you expect to pay for your studies' that you wish to be considered, i.e. you need to state 'NUBS Scholarship applicant'. School Scholarship applications will be evaluated on the basis of former qualifications, academic background, academic references and research proposal.

Sir Francis Hill Scholarship
This Scholarship is founded by a bequest under the will of Sir Francis Hill, Chancellor of the University, 1971 – 1978. This award is open to nominations from the Faculties of Social Sciences and Arts. Each School may nominate only one student.
Students who wish to be considered for this Scholarship, must hold an offer to start a full-time PhD research degree programme in the Faculties of Arts or Social Science at the University of Nottingham or currently be in the first year of their PhD. The Sir Francis Hill Scholarship will cover full tuition fees (at the Home/EU rate) as well as tax free living expenses of £14,069 per year, up to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress. ESRC DTC Scholarships
The University is one of only 21 Doctoral Training Centres accredited nationally by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
The ERSC DTC Scholarships are open to Home/ EU offer holders and will cover full tuition fees as well as tax-free living expenses of £14,069 per year. The ESRC DTC Scholarship application form and guidelines are available at: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/esrc-dtc/funding-application/index.aspx.

Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for Research Excellence (European Union)
30 Full Tuition Fee Scholarships, including a £8,400 stipend per annum.

You can apply for this scholarship if you:
- are a Chinese national AND
- meet the requirements of the China Scholarship Council – please see their website AND
- are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes AND
- already hold an offer to start a full-time PhD research degree programme at Nottingham in October 2014 – any subject area – this offer must be unconditional (conditional offers will be considered providing all English language requirements have been met – i.e. IELTS/TOEFL).
