Nostcon: Nottingham Statistical Physics and Condensed Matter Student Conference

Nostcon is a student conference on topics in statistical physics and condensed matter including: large deviation theory, fluctuation theorems, nonequilibrium dynamics, soft condensed matter, disorder, mesoscopics, quantum phase transitions, open quantum systems, strongly correlated physics and ultra-cold atoms. The purpose of the meeting is to showcase interesting research, exchange ideas and encourage collaboration. Furthermore, there will be a strong emphasis on giving participants an opportunity to present, and a focus on making presentations as accessible as possible. This conference is a unique opportunity for post-graduate students to meet and discuss physics in a more open forum than is available normally. There are a limited number of fully funded accommodation places which are available, students who are interested should contact the organisers as soon as possible.
