Programme overview

Course description

This module is designed for students who have completed all levels of Beginners Chinese courses or students with equivalent language skills. A written vocabulary of 800 words is a prerequisite to starting the course. 

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Develop a written vocabulary of approximately 1000 words.

  • Understand a passage of about 500 words with 80% comprehension.

  • Learn how to do a presentation.

  • Read articles of about 800 words with 85% comprehension.
  • Understand more Chinese etiquette and customs related to the course content.

HSK Standard Course 1 & HSK Standard Course Workbook 1 is covered in the course fee.

Please note that a minimum of 5 students is required in order for a course to run. Should any course not recruit sufficiently, a full refund will be provided.

All Mandarin evening classes will be held in the Amenities Building on the Jubilee Campus.

Free parking is available from 5pm, Monday to Friday. 

The Amenities Building is building No. 11 on the Jubilee Campus map.
