Course description

NUBS Malaysia’s Advanced Management Programme (AMP) aims to equip senior executives with advanced leadership skills, cutting-edge strategies, and tools and techniques which will help them to lead with vision and confidence. The Strategic Leadership in a Global Business Environment AMP is a six-day residential programme covering five key areas. 


Senior executives with leadership positions; identified as part of the company’s succession plan with significant responsibility for strategic decision-making including (but not limited to):

  • Members of the executive committee.
  • Heads of business units.
  • Senior functional heads.
  • Senior executives of government agencies or non-profit organisations.
  • High-potential managers and senior functional managers who wish to sharpen and refine their leadership style and accelerate their transition from functional specialists to general managers and leaders of organisations.


Programme goals:

  • Expand senior executives’ strategic mind-set.
  • Prepare senior executives for the rigour of managing and leading companies.
  • Equip senior executives with appropriate strategic leadership and change management tools in order to drive organisational performance.

Dr Eunice Lim Ngat Chin
Dr Eunice Lim Ngat Chin (PhD in International Business, Monash University)
Dr Lim is a Senior University Teaching Fellow of International Business and Director of Executive Education at the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) in the University of Nottingham - Malaysia Campus (UNMC).

She lectures International Business Strategy, Strategic Management and Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining academia, Dr Lim has close to 20 years of business advisory and commercial experience with Arthur Andersen/Ernst & Young, Encorp Group Sdn Bhd/Natseven TV Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Government agencies and private organisations. Her primary business advisory experience focuses on Strategic Planning, Business Modelling and Government Policy Studies.


Dr Khong Kok Wei (PhD in Process Reengineering and Customer Service Management, Multimedia University)
Khong is a Professor of Marketing Analytics and currently the Director of MBA Programmes in Nottingham University Business School Malaysia. He has a wide range of experience in teaching (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels), research, training and consulting both locally and internationally.

He has published many papers in services marketing, social media studies, behavioral science studies and process reengineering. He has also conducted many professional trainings, seminars and workshops for corporate and academic institutions like Hyatt Hotel, AMWAY Malaysia, British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, King's Confectionery, National University of Singapore extension programs, Department of Statistics Malaysia, UPM GSM, KUITHO, UPSI, UMS, SAS Institute in Malaysia, SPSS Malaysia, etc.

He was appointed as a consultant in recent projects with GfK Retail and Technology Malaysia, AMWAY and CBSA Online. At present, he is the Vice-President of the SAS User Group Malaysia (SUGMa).


Dr Lau Chee Kwong
Dr Lau Chee Kwong (PhD in Accounting, Universiti Putra Malaysia)
Dr Lau is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.

He specializes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for corporate reporting. Dr Lau's current research interest focuses on IFRS and reporting practices. Dr Lau holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting. His doctorate study specializes in the financial reporting of intangible assets. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), both specialize in Finance.


maniam kaliannan
Dr Maniam Kaliannan (PhD in Public Sector Management, University of Malaya)
Dr Maniam Kaliannan is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and the Director for MSc Programmes. He is currently teaching the following modules at undergraduate, MBA and MSc levels:

His research interest include human resource management, e-government, disaster management, knowledge management, public sector management and economics. He has presented and published his work in both conferences and international journals.


Dr Avvari Mohan Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Deputy Dean at NUBS Malaysia
Dr Avarri Mohan (PhD, Management of Innovation, Indian Institute of Science)
Avvari V. Mohan is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) in the University of Nottingham - Malaysia Campus (UNMC). He is also Deputy Dean for Business Engagement and External Relations for the school.

He received his doctorate in Marketing and Innovation from the Department of Management Studies of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore following which he visited South Korea on a Research Fellowship at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Prior to joining UNMC, he served as a member of the Faculty of Management at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

His research interests are in the areas of Strategy and Innovation with Sustainability oriented Strategies (CSR). He is particularly in collaborations or linkages firms develop with other organisations for Innovation and Sustainable Development/CSR. He has served as a Council Member of the Consumer Forum (CFM) for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Industry, as a recourse person in WTA-UNESCO workshops and recently as Innovation Auditor for MIGHT, Malaysia.
