Nottingham School of Economics (NSE) is one of the leading teaching and research departments in Europe. Its standing among the elite economics departments for research was reinforced by the UK Research Assessment Exercise for 2008, which ranked its ‘research power' among the top three in the country. The School has been ranked consistently in the top ten Economics departments in the United Kingdom by The Times Good University Guide, and achieved the highest possible score in the latest UK Quality Assurance Agency audit of teaching quality. The school has almost 50 full-time academic staff and 800 undergraduate, 80 Masters and 70 full-time PhD students. It is housed in the Sir Clive Granger Building, which is named in honour of the winner of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, a former student and member of academic staff at Nottingham. The Building is in the heart of University Park, a beautifully landscaped 330-acre parkland campus in the City of Nottingham. This site covers all aspects of the School's activities, and has been designed to provide information and resources for staff, students and visitors.
