The Nottingham School of Economics is one of the UK's premier departments for the teaching of economics and combines this with an international standing for its research. It attracts the very best students, from the UK and abroad, and offers challenging and broad programmes of study.
The Nottingham School of Economics has a large and vibrant postgraduate community. In a typical year we have about 130 students taking taught postgraduate courses, and about 60 students enrolled on the Ph.D. programme.
Offering a range of courses
As one of the largest Schools of Economics in the UK, we offer a wide range of taught postgraduate courses and expert Ph.D. supervision across a range of areas. The School's MSc and Ph.D are recognised by the ESRC and form part of the University of Nottingham ESRC doctoral training centre. This centre provides full funding for a number of the most highly qualified candidates (around 20 per annum across the social sciences, including around 4 in Economics).
As well as the Ph.D research programme, we offer nine taught MSc courses and a Diploma (Conversion) which offers a route into the MSc programme for those who did not specialise in economics at the undergraduate level.
Scholarships
The School has available various full and partial scholarships for highly qualified UK, EU and International students entering in the 2012/13 session.
