Biography

Dr Branson is an Assistant Professor of Dynamics and Controls and director of the Nottingham Advanced Robotics Laboratory in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, UK. I have held research and teaching positions in the United States, United Kingdom and Italy. These positions have provided extensive experience in the design, modelling and control of complex, multi-body, non-linear systems with a focus on manufacturing and healthcare applications. Current and previous projects including: modelling and control of actuated continuum surfaces undergoing large deformations; integration of piezoelectric actuators into mechanical systems; fabric based monitoring systems; and intelligent robotic assembly methodologies.

Dr Branson is part of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Group.
