Foundation Course on the Law of Armed Conflict 2016

In September 2016, HRLC delivered its annual Foundation Course on the Law of Armed Conflict. The bespoke course is provided to personnel from the UK Army Legal Services.

This course is designed to give an academic grounding in a specialist area of public international law, namely the law of armed conflict (LOAC). This is essentially an area of law that deals with state and individual responsibility in the use of military force and the conduct of military operations. This course is designed for qualified lawyers working for the legal branches of the armed services who may be called on to give advice on such matters.

The course was delivered by Professor Nigel White, Professor Sandesh Sivakumaran, and HRLC Co-Director Professor Dominic McGoldrick, the Director of the Course.
