Boots Company Archivist Sophie Clapp and Professor John Beckett (Department of History) are giving a talk on Jesse Boot (pictured) and the legacy of his creativity in establishing the Boots business.

The talk will take place on Thursday 19 November at 2–3pm, at The Larder restaurant, 16–22 Goosegate, Hockley, Nottingham NG1 1FE.

From herbal remedies to the invention and mass production of Ibuprofen, the talk will give an insight into the development of the company and the contribution it has made to Nottingham. This talk comes in the week in which 16–22 Goosegate, the building in which the Larder restaurant is located, has been given a Civic Society Blue Plaque to show the location of the first Boots Chemist.

The event is free but numbers are limited; please book your place here.

The talk is part of the "Nottingham – Creative City" strand in the Being Human festival 2015. See the full list of events here.
