Life Cycle 6 - support our breast cancer research
Help us raise £1 million to beat breast cancer
Every day, in the UK, 140 women are told "you have breast cancer". Around the world, 10,000 women die from the disease every week.
Our professors in Nottingham and Derby are working on innovative research to detect breast cancer early, stop it spreading and to develop treatments that will help save lives. We've made breast cancer the focus for Nottingham Life Cycle 6 - our annual fundraising campaign.
You can cycle, bake, dance or organise your own event - whatever you do, 100% of every penny raised will go direct to our research. Together, we can save lives.
Take part and you can make a difference
Support our Vice-Chancellor and
Life Cycle team as they cycle a gruelling 1,400 miles this August.
Now's a great time to get involved – every cake baked, mile walked and penny raised will make a difference.
Challenge yourself or enjoy a more leisurely cycle - get on your bike this September and join our community ride.
Our breast cancer research
Nottingham is already home to the world's first blood test to detect lung cancer early and is where the Nottingham Prognostic Index – the global standard used to predict a breast cancer patient's future – was first developed.
Now you can help our award-winning breast cancer research teams tackle the disease at every stage. Discover our innovative work to:
Our team of experts are based in both Nottingham and Derby, and include practising clinicians and researchers. Watch our video to see behind the scenes
Four women – Lisa, Caroline, Leanne and Sue – are at the heart of our #BreastCancerAndMe campaign.
At different stages in their breast cancer journeys, they give us an insight into what it's like to live with breast cancer – from diagnosis and treatment to looking to the future and what the life-changing research at Nottingham and Derby means to them.
Real women. Real stories. Real hope.
