Library collection policies
Library collections are developed to support the research, learning and teaching work of the University. The precise subject areas of relevance are discussed and agreed with schools and departments annually.
To support the local, regional, national and international research community, the library also holds and provides access to Manuscripts and Special Collections.
The library collections now support the work of the University in the UK, Malaysia and China. The management of the University's international collections is informed by the Global Collection Management Policy. More information.....

Relegating for storage or withdrawal
The library aims to maintain and manage the existing collection of research and teaching materials, and to acquire new materials which will enhance this collection. Balancing this intake of new material with other service priorities such as the availability of sufficient study areas means that there is a need for space management.
Options are:
-
replacement of print with electronic resources
-
transfer of material to storage
-
permanent removal of material from stock
Decisions are guided by the Relegation Policy
