Part-time and distance learners

The following services are targeted at part-time staff and students, distance learners and those on placement.

These services are available in most of our libraries but do not include short loan books.

Postal loans

You can request books to be posted to your UK address.

How do I request a book?

  • Use NUsearch to check that we have the book
  • Send an email to dl-requests@nottingham.ac.uk with your UK address and the book details and we will arrange delivery
  • You will be informed of the due date (which may change if someone else requests your book)

Can I keep my book for longer?

Yes, unless someone else requests it.

You can renew your books on NUsearch.

How do I return my book?

  • In person to any University of Nottingham library
  • By post. Books must be sent using ‘Recorded Signed For' delivery and it is your responsibility to pay for this

Copy Scan Direct

You can request scanned articles from our collection.

How do I request an article?

  1. Use NUsearch to check that we have the article
  2. Complete the relevant request form:
        Staff request form

     3. Scan the form(s) to your library

How much does it cost?

£2.50 per article (plus VAT where applicable).

How do I pay?

You can pay by credit/debit card over the phone.
