Manuscripts and Special Collections

Manuscripts and Special Collections is part of the University's Information Services and is located at King's Meadow Campus.

It houses a range of medieval documents including illuminated manuscripts, title deeds and manorial records, most of which relate to the East Midlands area.

In addition to caring for its documents, Manuscripts and Special Collections has produced a series of online ‘Research Guidance’ pages giving advice for anyone wishing to consult archive material. Units of particular relevance to Medieval research are ‘Dating Documents ’, ‘Deeds in Depth ’ and ‘Manorial Records ’.

 

Medieval resources can be scattered through the collections and difficult to locate, but the archivists will be glad to respond to enquiries and offer advice. Contact details are on the Manuscripts and Special Collections web pages.
