Dr Joy Spiliopoulos from the School of International Studies at Ningbo and a visiting fellow here at Nottingham University Business School has collaborated on some research that shows both EU and non-EU nurses have experienced increased discrimination since the 2016 EU referendum and propensity to leave the NHS and migrate elsewhere because of 'Brexit' uncertainty.
The research has received widespread coverage, with Joy appearing on BBC Radio Nottingham, the BBC News channel, the Nottingham Post and Nursing Standard, among others. The findings are being presented in August and September at this year's European Sociological Association and the British Sociological Association annual conferences.
