  • Daniel Silva Escobar is a Chilean sociologist (BA, Universidad Central de Chile) with an MSc in Politics (University of Sheffield). He has worked as a teaching assistant in various Chilean universities in the areas of sociological theory and political ecology. He is also a recipient of a Becas Chile scholarship granted by ANID (Chilean Government).
  • His doctoral thesis tries to shed light on the economic and political determinants that have contributed to the creation of the sacrifice zone of Quintero-Puchuncaví (Chile), paying particular attention to the differentiated impacts and resistance strategies that the various fractions of the local working-class population have put into practice in order to overcome the environmental injustices they have to face in their everyday lives.
