Evelyn's current research centers on the role of women in post-conflict reconstruction, specifically focusing on the civic and political participation of women and girls in post-conflict African states. Her research employs a combination of intersectional feminism and resistance theoretical frameworks along with a mixed research methodology to critically examine the progress of women and girls' civic and political engagement in Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire after armed conflicts. By shedding light on the concepts of resistance and backlash, her research seeks to bring to the fore the much under-theorized theme in women and girls' involvement in the civic and political spheres.
