You should have received a copy of the introductory "Welcome Edition" of Safety Matters! with your joining papers. This will have introduced you to details about health and safety at the University.
As a new member of the University, we would like to draw your attention to the following essential documents. (In returning to the Safety Office welcome page, you will see the other safety information available to you.)
- University Safety Handbook This gives the University's Safety Statement, Organisational details and the key arrangements in place for health and safety.
- Induction procedures and questionnaire Your school or department should provide you with an induction which includes safety. See whether you can complete the questionnaire, any queries, discuss them with your manager or supervisor as quickly as possible.
- Contact details for the Safety Office There are School/Departmental Safety Officers in each area but please check this link if you would like to contact Safety Office personnel directly.
- Training courses Details of courses available in-house at the University.
