Biography

Research Associate in Biomaterials Development and Additive Manufacturing. Prior to this, I received the Leverhulme Trust grant for my PhD at the University of Liverpool where my research focused on nanolithography and surface chemistry to study stem cell fate under supervision of Dr. Judith Curran. Prior to this, I have received a MSc Research degree in School of Chemistry, University of Manchester in 2014.

Expertise Summary

Large-area nanolithography (polymer pen lithography), silane surface functionalisation, chemical modification of self-assemble monolayers by surface reaction.

Synthesis, purification and characterisation of organic compounds.

Atomic force microscopy for surface imaging and mechanical properties. FTIR, UV-Vis, NMR, mass spectrometry, environmental scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Experienced in fixation of cell samples, staining and image under epifluorescence, apotome or confocal microscopy.

Standard tissue culture and use of microscopes including live cell imaging. Lysis of human cells and perform qRT-PCR.

Fabrication of hydrogels, polymer and surface modified elastic materials for cell applications.

Research Summary

Development of microparticle using novel polymer for drug delivery.
